The Special Habitat Area (SHA) map shows specific habitats or landscape features that have been documented to provide especially or uniquely important fish and wildlife habitat values and function. Special Habitat Areas contain or support special status fish or wildlife species, sensitive/unique plant populations, wetlands, native ok, bottomland hardwood forests, riverine islands, river delta, migratory stopover habitat, connectivity corridors, grasslands, and other unique natural features. Purpose: The SHA map can be used to inform discussions and decisions pertaining to resource conservation and restoration and can be used for education and information sharing regarding specific habitat areas. Special Habitat Areas SHA) include some natural resource features not addressed by the Natural Resource Inventory Update project inventory GIS-base relative resource value model. They are therefore used to supplement the model results.
